Joanne Howard

Joanne Howard works in a variety of media including clay, works on paper and fiber art. In addition to her studio practice, Howard has collaborated with Brooklyn based theater company Big Dance Theater as set designer, since the company’s inception in 1992.

She received her MFA in Mixed Media from Hunter College in 2011, an MFA from Syracuse University School of Visual and Performing Arts in 1981 and attended The Skowhegan School in 1984. 
Howard was the recipient of a NYFA grant for Environmental Structures in 2008 and a Bessie Award for Best Collaboration, with Big Dance Theater, in 2010.
